Maybe you have a better workflow with it, who knows? However, when the engine just doesn't sound as good, is more limited in its architecture, and can only handle a fraction of the tasks that another one does on a regular basis, and doesn't sit nearly as well in a mix, you can't reasonably claim that it's more versatile. I'm not saying you shouldn't love your Blofeld, more than anything that you do, but your claim of superior versatility against the entire Q range is factually bogus.

#WALDORF BLOFELD EDITOR 2016 MOD#

The filter section is weaker, the mod matrix is weaker, the multitimbrality is not as comprehensive, audio input is nonexistent, no sequencer, the list goes on.

#WALDORF BLOFELD EDITOR 2016 FULL#

Maybe the Blofeld has more versatility than the µQ, but not the full Q or Q Rack. Far more than any of the Q range.ĭisagree. It's one of Waldorf's most versatile synths outside the Quantum. It has an audio input too unlike the Blofeld, if it had a visual display of the envelopes like the Blofeld, that thing would be perfect. That Microwave XT though, if you can find one cheap enough, the XT is so much fun to use. I love the Blofeld, its very modern and perfect for the weird ambient pads and drones I use it for. I think it can put out frequencies only my cats can hear. The Microwave has an older 'grungier' digital sound, the Blofeld is sharp as hell and bright.

#WALDORF BLOFELD EDITOR 2016 PATCH#

Use the same wavetables, set up the same patch as close as you can. You'll notice it right away if you compare the Microwave XT to the Blofeld. In regards to the hardware sound of the Waldorfs. I have Sound Diver set up for it in a virtual machine too but the Blofeld is really finicky with it. I usually use Bigglesworth on the Mac and edit there and send it to the synth. If Im in a hurry, I can throw something together really quick, but it aint no Microwave XT. The hard part is the menu printed on the case only shows so much, there's lots of stuff in the sub pages for those parameters too. After your first couple of patches you'll know the basic way around. Oscillators->Filters 1/2->Modulation->FX/Arp. Its even laid out from top to bottom pretty much like any other synth would be. Or, if you’ve ever fancied building an editor for one of your MIDI synths then now is your chance. The interfaces are fairly easy once you spend some time with em. These include randomisation, patch merging and blending of random patches, pushing patches closer towards other patches (very interesting), morphing interpolation between four patches and more.Įdisyn is not particularly exciting to look at and they’ve gone for functionality over style and flair but if you have any of these synths then it could be a really useful utility. Sean has also built in a range of creative tools to help with patch generation. It also has unlimited levels of undo, CC and NRPN mapping, real-time updates, test notes and chords and some MPE support. There’s a lot of old favourites in there.

Edisyn from developer Sean Luke is one such synthesizer editor that will give you control over a whole bunch of synths via custom made MIDI editing synthesizer templates.

It makes automation a breeze, lets you save patches within DAW projects and brings you best of both hardware and software worlds. Librarian synth editors are one of the most useful tools for people who prefer their sounds in hardware but sequence and edit in software.
